Attractions

Bonneville Dam
Bonneville Lock and Dam spans the Columbia River between Washington and Oregon. The structure was built in the mid-1930s for the primary functions of power generation and river navigation.

Multnomah Falls
The second highest year-round waterfall in the United States at 611 feet, Multnomah Falls is one of Oregon's most popular attractions, and an easy on-and-off Interstate-84.

Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area
The Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area surrounds the Hood River area, encompassing 92,500 acres from the mouths of the Sandy River to the west and the Deschutes River to the east in both Oregon and Washington. The protections of the Scenic Area Act keep the Gorge a special place. Explore this spectacular river canyon.

Mount Hood National Forest
The Mt. Hood National Forest offers a huge variety of world-class recreational activities, including skiing, hiking, boating, rafting, climbing, backpacking, horseback riding and fishing, all in 1,067,043 acres of unsurpassed beauty.

Lost Lake Resort
Located on the north side of Mt. Hood, Lost Lake offers fishing, boat and canoe rentals (motors strictly prohibited), mountain biking, hiking and access to the Pacific Crest Trail.

Gifford Pinchot National Forest
A wilderness in SW Washington that is home to 110,000 acre Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument.

Oregon State Parks
There are numerous Oregon State Parks in the vicinity, including Mayer State Park, the Historic Columbia River Highway State Trail, Koberg Beach State Recreation Site, Starvation Creek State Park, and Viento State Park.

Washington State Parks
Local Washington State Parks nearby include the Goldendale Observatory, Maryhill State Park, Columbia Hills State Park, Doug's Beach, Spring Creek Hatchery, and Beacon Rock.

Regional Wineries
Over thirty regional wineries and tasting rooms are located within a 40 mile stretch in the Columbia Gorge wine growing region, where amazingly diverse growing conditions nurture a wide variety of grapes for world-class wine production.

The Hood River County Fruit Loop will take you through some of the most scenic vistas you can imagine as you tour the Hood River Valley, with fruit stands, alpaca and llama farms, markets, wineries - the list goes on in our fertile agricultural area.

Mount Hood Railroad
Spectacular, scenic train rides are a unique way to enjoy the historic Hood River Valley.

Sternwheeler Columbia Gorge

Hood River Golf Course is an 18-Hole course built in 1923 just 5 miles from the Hood River Inn.
Elk Ridge Golf Course is an 18-Hole links style course 30 minutes west of the Hood River Inn in Washington, state.

Columbia Center for the Arts
The Columbia Center for the Arts includes an Art Gallery with rotating exhibits, art education, theater productions in CAST Theater, and other events.

Hood River History Museum
